Gaming is full of impossible decisions.
Do you choose the weapon with incredible damage but terrible accuracy? Do you spend your entire savings on a new console or upgrade your PC? Do you follow the main story or completely ignore it for 40 hours while collecting pointless items?
But today we're taking things a little further.
Forget choosing between two weapons. Forget picking your favourite character.
It's time for Would You Rather: Gaming Edition.
We've put together some of the toughest, funniest and downright cruelest choices we could think of. There are no right answers — although we're definitely judging you for some of them.
Have unlimited games but only be allowed to play at 30 FPS?
OR
Have only 10 games but play everything at 120 FPS?
For some gamers, 30 FPS is perfectly acceptable.
For others, reading that sentence has already caused physical pain.
Unlock every achievement automatically?
OR
Have to earn every achievement yourself, but your rarest achievement is permanently displayed on your profile?
The first option sounds brilliant until you realise you'd lose all the satisfaction of actually earning them.
The second could turn your profile into a permanent trophy cabinet.
Get every new game for free but never be allowed to buy DLC?
OR
Get every DLC and expansion for free but have to pay full price for every game?
This one could split the gaming community straight down the middle.
Especially when that £100 “Ultimate Deluxe Mega Edition” appears on your wishlist.
Lose your entire digital game library?
OR
Lose your entire achievement/trophy history?
This might be the most painful question on the list.
Games can be purchased again.
But years of achievements?
Those memories are gone forever.
Play every game with your favourite controller?
OR
Play every game with perfect internet forever?
Controller comfort versus never seeing that dreaded:
“Connection Lost.”
For online gamers, this might not even be a difficult decision.
Fight one final boss with only one life?
OR
Fight 100 easy enemies without being allowed to save?
The first option is terrifying.
The second sounds easy until you're three hours in and realise you haven't saved once.
Only be allowed to play games from one console generation?
OR
Only be allowed to play games released after 2030?
Would you stick with the classics you already know and love?
Or gamble on the future of gaming?
Have every game you play permanently locked to the hardest difficulty?
OR
Have every game permanently locked to the easiest difficulty?
No changing it.
No excuses.
No difficulty sliders.
Just endless suffering — or absolutely no challenge whatsoever.
Always know the perfect strategy for every game?
OR
Always discover every secret completely by yourself?
Being able to walk into a game knowing exactly what to do would be incredibly powerful.
But there's something special about accidentally discovering a hidden room, secret weapon or Easter egg that nobody told you about.
Would you rather have one perfect gaming console that can play every game ever made?
OR
Have unlimited money to own every console, PC and handheld — but only have time to play one game per week?
And this is where things get difficult.
Because having everything doesn't necessarily mean you have time to enjoy it.
Maybe the perfect gaming setup isn't actually about owning the most powerful hardware or having the biggest library.
Maybe it's simply having enough time to play the games you genuinely love.
Well...
There might be a few.
If you chose 30 FPS over 120 FPS, we're going to need to have a conversation.
But that's what makes Would You Rather so much fun. Everyone approaches gaming differently.
Some people care about graphics.
Some care about achievements.
Some want massive open worlds.
Others just want to jump online with their mates and cause absolute chaos.
So now it's your turn.
Which question was the hardest?
And more importantly...
Just make it difficult.
We want to see the gaming community argue.
