Some games are amazing the first time you play them, but once you finish the story, you never feel the need to return. Others can keep you coming back years later, even when you already know exactly what happens. What makes you want to replay a game: the story, gameplay, different choices, challenge, nostalgia, or something else?

Nostalgia. I want to go back and play Condemned.

An interesting story can make me play games a couple of times. If the story is boring, I can never see myself repeating a game that I have managed to complete. It can never be fun for me.

Games are worth replaying if they have multiple endings, different playstyles, or a very strong gameplay. The story is important but the gameplay keep you coming back.

For me is how much fun it is. I'm a massive Y2K person but it's more for the gameplay/concepts than Nostalgia. I surround myself with it daily so it's not like I'm after the Nostalgia high, but most games I enjoy playing I do because they're simple, to the point, and most importantly are fun with enjoyable mechanics.

If the game brings out some kind of feeling in me that I always want to feel, then of course I want to play it again. These are usually true of my favorite games.
