[Phil]

Meet Gizmo! In this GamingDNA interview, we chat about their favourite gaming classics, their love for Spyro the Dragon, and the mobile games they keep coming back to. From nostalgic memories of Minion Rush to a long-standing soft spot for Crash Bandicoot, Gizmo shares their gaming likes, dislikes, funniest moments, and the one franchise they'd love to explore more. Plus, find out what custom GamingDNA achievement they'd love to unlock....

What was the first game you ever fell in love with?
I'd have to say Super Mario, Spyro the Dragon, or Crash Bandicoot. They're all classics, and I've always had a soft spot for those kinds of games. If I had to pick a favourite character, though, Spyro would definitely be up there!

If you could bring one gaming franchise back, which would it be?
Final Fantasy! Admittedly, I've only played the first game a little bit, so I'm not exactly a franchise expert. Still, it's one I'd love to explore more and see what I've been missing.

What's your favourite gaming character?
Spyro the Dragon! He's a fun, colourful little purple dragon with loads of personality. I also love that he's been voiced by two of my favourite voice actors, Carlos Alazraqui and Tom Kenny. Having two voice actors I really enjoy connected to one of my favourite gaming characters makes Spyro even more special to me!

What's the best gaming soundtrack you've heard?
The Spyro the Dragon soundtrack would be my pick. It fits the magical, colourful worlds perfectly and really adds to the game's charm. It's one of those things that helps make Spyro so memorable.

What game could you play forever without getting bored?
Subway Surfers or Yahtzee with Buddies on my phone. I can easily spend 30 minutes to an hour playing Subway Surfers, and it's one of those games I keep coming back to whenever I have some spare time.

What's a game you think is massively underrated?
Subway Surfers! It's colourful, fun, and easy to get into, but trying to beat your own high score keeps you coming back. It's the perfect game for when you've got a few minutes to spare — although those few minutes can easily turn into half an hour!

What's the longest you've ever played a game in one sitting?
Around 30 minutes to an hour playing Subway Surfers on my phone. It's easy to tell yourself you're only going to play for a few minutes, then keep going because you want another chance at a better score!

If you could only own one console or gaming platform, what would you choose?
My mobile phone, without a doubt! I always have it with me, and I can play Subway Surfers or Yahtzee with Buddies whenever I feel like it. Convenience wins!

What's your most memorable gaming moment?
Some of the funniest moments for me are when I get a really unusual-looking score in Subway Surfers or Yahtzee with Buddies. I don't necessarily need to complete an epic quest or defeat a final boss to have a memorable gaming moment!

What's the hardest game you've ever completed?
I'm going to be honest: I don't have a particular game that springs to mind! I'm more of a casual gamer, so I tend to focus on games I enjoy rather than chasing the hardest challenges out there.

What's your biggest gaming achievement?
I'd say getting better at the games I enjoy and beating my own scores. I'm not a hardcore gamer chasing every trophy or achievement, but there's still something satisfying about improving your personal best!

What's the funniest thing that's happened to you while gaming?
Those random moments when I get a completely unexpected or funny-looking score in Subway Surfers or Yahtzee with Buddies. Sometimes the game itself isn't even trying to be funny, but the result makes me laugh anyway!

What's your biggest gaming rage moment?
Flappy Bird! That little bird and those pipes were enough to test anyone's patience. You'd think getting through one more gap should be easy, and then suddenly you're starting all over again!

What's your biggest gaming pet peeve?
When a game gets a massive update that changes everything you enjoyed about it in the first place. Minion Rush is a perfect example for me. I understand that games need updates, but sometimes the changes take away what made the original so much fun.

What's one game you wish you could experience again for the first time?
Minion Rush! I used to really enjoy playing it, but then a massive update changed things in a direction I wasn't a fan of. I'd love to experience the original version again, before everything changed. Sometimes you just want the old game back!

What's a game everyone loves that you just can't get into?
Grand Theft Auto. I know it's hugely popular, but it's never really grabbed my attention. I guess even the biggest games aren't going to appeal to everyone!

If you could spend one day inside any video game world, which would you choose?
The world of Crash Bandicoot! I'd love to meet Crash in person and see what kind of trouble we could get into together. Hopefully, I'd survive the experience without being flattened by a giant boulder!

What's the next game you're most excited to play?
Hogwarts Legacy! I've wanted to give it a go at some point because exploring the wizarding world sounds like an amazing experience. Who wouldn't want to spend a little time at Hogwarts?

What's the one game you would recommend to someone who says they don't like gaming?
Subway Surfers! It's easy to understand, you don't need to learn complicated controls, and you can start playing straight away. Just be careful — you might discover that you actually enjoy gaming more than you thought!

If GamingDNA gave you a custom achievement, what would it be called?
Mogwai Player: Chaos After Midnight! As a Gremlins fan, I'd love an achievement inspired by Gizmo and the Mogwai. It would be awarded for bringing a little chaos to the gaming world while remembering the golden rule: don't feed after midnight!
