Assassin's creed, you can be riding a horse or running for a good 15minutes+ to get to a destination. RDR2 was a huge game that felt like 30minutes+ to get anywhere that I gave up with it.

Is open world becoming too open world with lots of vacant/empty space in games?

Yes, I think some open-world games have become too big for their own good. Exploring is fun, but when huge areas contain little more than repetitive tasks or empty scenery, it starts feeling like a chore.

Not at all; in fact, anyone who enjoys open-world games wouldn’t complain about a world that keeps getting larger. That’s precisely what players look for—an open world that becomes increasingly expansive, broader, and, above all, more alive. An extensive map that’s completely lifeless is pointless. So, are they getting bigger? Yes. But *too* big? Not at all—there’s no such thing as "too big."

I think it is not too big but they are getting too ridiculously empty. You could ride a horse for 25 minutes just to get to one mission. It makes the game very boring.

Yes, I also noticed that the open world games are getting too big with too much empty space. You could spend more than 15 minutes just wandering from one place to another.
