From brutal platformers to unforgiving arcade games, which game gave you the biggest challenge?

I don't think I've ever beaten a retro game....

Lion King on Sega Genesis. As a matter of fact, I never beat Scar in the final battle. I probably spent an hour smacking him around, but he never died. I finally gave up.

What a game! Can’t remember how far I got though

Dark Souls is the game that give me the biggest challenge. It's very punishing but it's rewarding as well. And when you finally beat a boss, the feeling is unmatched.
