PS2 is the best for me. It has the biggest games library and the most classic games. That game sold over 150 million units and it's the console that truly define gaming for many people.
Physical games are better in my opinion. You can sell it, borrow it or keep it for collection. That can't be done with the digital version. It's convenient but you don't own it.
PS5 Pro is very expensive and the improvements are not commensurate to the increase in price. I have seen it in a friends place. I would rather stick to my PS4 for now.
I try as much as possible to explore but if the map is too big, I just stick to the main story. If the side quests add value to the game, it makes it interesting.
Yes, I also noticed that the open world games are getting too big with too much empty space. You could spend more than 15 minutes just wandering from one place to another.
Games are worth replaying if they have multiple endings, different playstyles, or a very strong gameplay. The story is important but the gameplay keep you coming back.
I can play without sound sometime. So, when I listen to music or podcast, I don't play the sound in the game. But I think it's only necessary for competitive games. You need it for footsteps and cues. For casual games, it doesn't really matter.
If the game is not a pay-to-win, I can spend a very small amount of money on the cosmetics. And with the way money is difficult to come by, you need to be selective. I do understand that many free games survive on micro-transactions. They need the money.
Gran Turismo 7 is my top choice. I love the graphics and the realism is top notch as well. Racing games are popular among those that love cars. It's not really my thing.
Dark Souls is the game that give me the biggest challenge. It's very punishing but it's rewarding as well. And when you finally beat a boss, the feeling is unmatched.
